ABOUT STEPHEN
Stephen Barbee, a dedicated servant leader with over 20 years of experience, has been at the forefront of supporting the homeless and reentry communities through his work as a case manager, outreach worker, mentor, life coach, and group facilitator. He is the founder of P2P Ministry (Passion to Purpose Ministry), an organization focused on empowering individuals through trans formative support and mentorship.
Stephen’s professional journey includes impact roles in various ministries and agencies, including his work with Prison Fellowship Ministry, The Village Initiative in Kansas City, Kansas as a Community Outreach Specialist, and Clay County Courts in Liberty, Missouri as a Court Advocate. He has also served as Community Outreach Manager at Connections to Success in both Kansas City, Missouri, and Kansas City, Kansas, and as Program Coordinator at Metro Lutheran Ministry in Kansas City, Missouri. Additionally, he co-founded KC Outreach, providing essential services to the reentry community, mentored at Leavenworth United States Penitentiary, and managed shelters as Lead Shelter Manager at City Union Mission in Kansas City, Missouri. Stephen’s work extends further as a former Chaplain at Lawndale Christian Health Center in Chicago, Illinois, and Men's Division Director at Pacific Garden Mission.
A recognized speaker, Stephen has presented for the United States Department of Justice, Leavenworth United States Penitentiary, United States Probation and Pretrial Services, and multiple correctional facilities, including Ellsworth Correctional Facility, Crossroads Correctional Center, Western Missouri Correctional Center, and the Missouri Restorative Justice Conference.
Stephen was the commencement speaker for Highland Community College in Highland, Kansas. A featured story in Victorious Living Magazine.
In addition to his ministry work, Stephen has passionately shared the Word of God across Illinois, Missouri, Kansas, Indiana, Wisconsin, and Minnesota. He studied Biblical Studies at Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, Illinois, and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communication from Trinity International University in Deerfield, Illinois.
Stephen is married to Deidre Anderson-Barbee and is the proud father of Latasha, Stephen, Sherell, Skyelar, and Bria, as well as a devoted grandfather to his grandchildren Ryeanne, Renae, Briaelle, Zya, and Adonis. His life and message are anchored in his journey from "Dreams, Destruction, Disgrace, and Deliverance," inspiring hope and transformation for all he serves.
